Eve Kalmus has been a civil servant for more than 20 years. Her career as a border guard started at 1993 and since then it has taken different directions taking her from BCP to the Headquarters of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board. She has a master`s degree from Tallinn University of Technology on public management (crises management) and now she is working at Estonian Police and Border Guard Board as a senior border official at integrated border management bureau. Her main task and area of responsibility is to promote border checks service at Estonian external border crossing points taking into account both the EU and national border management policy directions. During the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2017, she acted as the Chair of EU Council working party on FRONTIERS (False Documents). In addition to the outstanding career, she is also a proud mother of three children with whom she had to go through identity chain processes for three times so her children could enjoy all privileges eID enables.
