Meet our Speaker: Ian Grossman
Ian Grossman is a seasoned communication, policy, and association management professional with experiences in both the public and private sectors. Currently, Ian is the Vice President of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) where he is responsible for the Association’s driver, vehicle, and law enforcement programs that support safety and security throughout North America. He also leads the association’s strategic communications and government affairs efforts, providing members thought leadership on public policy and outreach.
Prior to joining AAMVA in 2009, he was an Associate Administrator for the Federal Highway Administration and has served at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Before the U.S. Department of Transportation, Ian served Governor Jim Douglas (VT) in a variety of capacities including as Campaign Manager for the Governor’s successful 2004 reelection. Before his work in the public sector, Ian provided marketing consulting for professional service companies and was a founder of two international public relations agencies.
eTalk: Mobile Driver Licenses: Electronic Identification That Meets Global Needs
As the premier organization that represents the motor vehicle administrations in the United States and Canada, AAMVA is providing critical leadership in the development and deployment of mobile driver licenses. Lessons learned from the shared history of producing physical credentials is informing the best ways to leverage the new mobile technology. This speech will include a discussion of opportunities and challenges include global interoperability and the future of identity vetting. We will also explore how the world of mDL will integrate with the larger future of mobility and vehicle technology in the coming decades.
