Kalev has been one of the key figures behind the Estonian ID-card project since its planning and has had big influence on the outcomes that are available today. Kalev has been involved in the identity management from physical (ICAO TAG member, passport and ID card procurements) and electronical (PKI, digital signing, national and international authentication mechanisms) side for 20 years.

Nowadays Kalev is CEO of SK ID Solutions that is leading Trust Service Provider in Baltic countries, with a wide range of responsibilities from issuing certificates or time stamps to providing support for digital signing or working on future electronic identity mechanisms for EU.
