Meet our Speaker: Matt Schneider
Mr Schneider is a Director within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection, Entry/Exit Transformation Office, where he provides biographic and biometric strategy and services to the Department and other interagency and international partners. Currently, Mr Schneider leads a business team responsible for deploying biometric technology to the U.S. land border used for both vehicle and pedestrian crossings. He is also responsible for the operation of a biographic system storing traveller data for individuals arriving and leaving the U.S. and determining if the traveller adheres to the terms of their entry. Previously he has been a member of the DHS US-VISIT office, where he had oversight responsibilities for the DHS biometric identity system, IDENT. During this time, he was selected for a secondment with the UK Government, where he advised and offered expertise to the UK Home Office and other foreign officials about implementing large-scale biometric programs.
Mr Schneider has extensive experience with the management of identity systems supporting various needs of the U.S. government and works to advance information sharing and relationship-building opportunities with international partners to strengthen border security worldwide.
